DIPLOMA in SUPERVISION – part 1 and part 2
THE COURSE
This course, a gestalt process model of supervision, has been designed to meet the training requirements as proposed by both the IACP and IAHIP for accredited supervisors. The gestalt model used in this course uses the supervisory relationship as the basis for an integrative approach to supervision, thus there is a strong focus on the skills necessary to support and explore the supervisory relationship. A central focus will be on the interactive process as it is reflected in the supervision process, paying attention in particular to the here and now relationship as a mirror or parallel of the therapist and client relationship. The full range of tasks and responsibilities of supervision will be explored, with practice and demonstration on how to hold these tasks in the supervisory relationship. There will be opportunities to practice supervision in small groups with one of the facilitators present. Exposure to other models of supervision will be included.
WHO IS THE COURSE FOR?
The course will be of interest to professionals who work in a process and integrative manner. It is open to counsellors and psychotherapists with four years post accreditation experience. It will also be of interest to psychologists and social workers.
