Working with the Gestalt Process

Courses Overview

Our courses are experiential and provide practitioners with experience of the Gestalt process and how to integrate it in their work. They provide an opportunity to learn about gestalt through their experience of the process in the group, modelling by the trainers, exercises to highlight aspects of the approach and opportunities for supervised practice of what has been learned.

Working with the Gestalt Process 2018 / 2019

The course will provide a unique opportunity to experience and to begin to put into practice the creative Gestalt approach developed by Netta and Marvin Kaplan of Israel and by Vincent Humphreys, Dublin. The course highlights the importance of the therapist’s own process and the relationship between the therapist and the client, in addition to teaching many of  the traditional Gestalt concepts. There will be a strong focus on working in the here and now, the quality of contact in therapy, and on the interactive process of support.

It is a postgraduate course which will be of interest to those in the helping professions e.g. counsellors and psychotherapists, social workers, psychologists and psychiatrists. The course will be organised to meet the needs of those who have no previous experience of Gestalt as well as those who wish to build on their previous experience of using this method.

The Course will be held in the Dublin Gestalt Centre, 66 Lower Leeson St., Dublin 2. It starts with a weekend in October 2016 and ends in a weekend in April 2017.
