Louise Farrelly

I have been working as a psychotherapist in private practice since 2012. During my career I have also worked as a psychotherapist with the Dublin Well Woman Centre and the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre.  I hold a Masters in Psychotherapy and am an accredited psychotherapist and supervisor with the Irish Association of Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy.

As a practicing humanistic and integrative psychotherapist I work within a framework of Gestalt theory and Person Centred theory, whilst incorporating compatible theories to allow for a person’s awareness of themselves as a whole on a somatic, emotional, intellectual, relational and social level. I believe that through the therapeutic relationship clients can find a safe, trusting environment in which to explore, both on a conscious and unconscious level, how they feel and to reflect on their life experiences, and move towards integration and healing.

Throughout my practice I have been privileged to witness individuals’ deepening insightfulness, self-compassion, empowerment and personal growth. Through my ongoing personal and professional development, I have gained insight and understanding into a wide variety of emotional and psychological issues. I have a special interest in working with issues of childhood trauma, sexual trauma and domestic violence, as well as working with couples and groups.
